  3500/20 125744-02 The Bently Rack interface module is a high-performance,highly reliable rack interface module that can connect 20 3500 series modules and external devices,support multiple communication modes,and support hot swappable.

  The Rack Interface Module(RIM)is the main interface of the rack 3500.It supports proprietary protocols for configuring racks and retrieving mechanical information.The im must be located in slot 1(near the power supply)of the cabinet.

  RIM supports compatible Bently Nevada external communications processors such as TDXnet,TDIX,and DDIX.Although RIM provides certain features common to the entire rack,RIM is not part of the critical monitoring path and has no impact on the normal operation of the overall monitoring system.One RIM is required per rack.

  For three-mode redundancy(TMR)applications,the 3500 system requires a TMR version of RIM.In addition to all standard RIM features,TMR RIM also performs a"Monitor channel comparison."The 3500 TMR configuration implements monitor voting using the Settings specified in the Monitor options.Using this method,TMR RIM constantly compares the output of three(3)redundant monitors.If TMR RIM detects that information from one of the monitors is no longer within the configured percentage of information from the other two monitors,it flags a monitor error and places an event in the system event list.

  3500/20 125744-02 The Bently rack interface module features a modular design for easy installation.The front panel of the module terdapat several indicators and several interfaces.
